What Is Cardano?
Cardano is a Proof-of-Stake blockchain platform built to support decentralized applications (dApps), smart contracts, and digital asset management. It was founded by Charles Hoskinson, a co-founder of Ethereum, who launched the project in 2015 through Input Output Global (IOG), a blockchain research and engineering firm. The Cardano blockchain went live in September 2017, and its native token, ADA, is named after Ada Lovelace, the 19th-century English mathematician widely regarded as the first computer programmer.
