They can also monetize their creations by selling them in the Decentraland Marketplace.

We’ve compiled everything you need to know about MANA price – as well as the factors which influence it.
Decentraland Price History
MANA began trading in September 2017 at around $0.02. There was no price increase for the next couple of months and slight declines took MANA below $0.01 a couple of times. Prices began to trend upwards in December and had broken $0.10 by the end of the year.
The rally continued into 2018, peaking at $0.30 in January. Prices pulled back to $0.08 over the course of the next week and the rest of the year was spent mostly in decline. By the end of 2018, MANA was worth $0.04 – an 87% decrease from its January peak.
MANA continued to fall for the first few weeks of 2019, bottoming out at $0.03 in February. There were then some gains made for the rest of the first quarter, with prices peaking at $0.08 at the end of March. After consolidating until July, the next few months took a downward trajectory and MANA hit a low of $0.02 towards the end of November. After a trend reversal, MANA had regained $0.03 by the end of the year.
Continued bullish momentum took prices as high as $0.07 in February 2020 but MANA soon fell to a low of $0.01 in March after a single-day crash of almost 50%. This marked the start of a period of steady growth which became exponential in August when prices reached $0.13. MANA spent the rest of the year consolidating and ended 2020 with a value of $0.08 – more than double the year’s starting price.
The rally restarted in 2021 as MANA consistently set higher highs and higher lows throughout January and February. The price growth became much steeper in the first half of March and MANA was more volatile for the next few weeks with regular pullbacks of over 30%. On 17 April 2021, MANA reached its all-time high of $1.68 when its market cap was over $2.1 billion. This represented year-to-date gains of 2,000%.
Analyzing Decentraland Price History
MANA’s price history can be analyzed with many of the same techniques as stock market analysis. Technical analysis (TA) involves using various indicators while studying price charts in order to make sense of previous price movements. With MANA, as with many other tradable assets, large price swings are often accompanied by spikes in trading volume, as a large number of users buy or sell their coins on exchanges.
Fundamental analysis (FA), on the other hand, looks at the finances and activities of a company, as well as the state of the wider market and economy. Decentraland raised $24 million in its initial coin offering (ICO) and its founders brought together experience from Silicon Valley and Matic Network, which could be a good sign for the project’s fundamentals.
Broader market trends have also played a role in MANA’s price history. Its surges at the end of 2017/start of 2018 and at the start of 2021 weren’t unique – the entire crypto market pumped around these times. Bitcoin was in the midst of major bull runs then, and with such strong market dominance, any significant price movement for Bitcoin often impacts other cryptocurrencies.
MANA’s huge single-day drop in March came as economies and borders were closing down around the world in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The effect of this was felt by the whole cryptocurrency sector and the entire stock market, which experienced the biggest single-day crash since 1987.
The overall price trend of MANA tends to follow what’s known as a boom-and-bust cycle. This is a pattern in which a period of growing excitement leads to a surge in price before doubt and disillusionment set in and result in a crash.
Factors Influencing The Price of Decentraland (MANA)
A variety of different things can affect the price of MANA, including project news and developments, the flow of assets on exchanges, public sentiment, and emerging trends in the wider cryptocurrency and global economies.
MANA launched with an initial max supply of just over 2.8 billion. However, MANA was burned to purchase LAND during the initial LAND auctions and 2.5% of every marketplace transaction was also burned, making MANA a deflationary asset. In January 2021, the Decentraland community voted to put an end to the marketplace transaction burns and reallocate those funds to the community treasury. By this time, MANA had a fixed max supply of 2,194,460,527, meaning the asset is still scarce and any increase in demand for MANA will push up its price.
The main reason for demand for MANA is its utility for purchasing LAND, avatars, and a range of other goods and services in the virtual world. It is thus likely that the price of MANA will rise as the number of Decentraland players increases.
Institutional adoption could also play a role. The surge MANA experienced in March 2021 corresponded with when Grayscale’s Decentraland trust started trading. This both made MANA more accessible to retail investors and increased investor confidence in the asset, and so any future instances of institutional adoption could further boost MANA’s price.
Live Decentraland Value and Market Cap
The live price of MANA varies from moment to moment as it’s dictated by the balance of buyers and sellers on exchanges, which is in constant flux.
Given MANA’s volatility, its live price can change by a large amount in a very short space of time. The market cap of Decentraland is equal to the price of MANA multiplied by the number of MANA in circulation.
